Happy Friday! As always, I am linking with Andrea, Narci, and Erika for Friday Favorites. This was our first week of summer break and it was just the right balance of staying home and relaxing as well as getting out and doing fun things. It was the perfect kickoff for summer.
This meme made me laugh, I can relate. my kids are SO hungry all the time in the summer. I feel like they are constantly wondering when their next meal is.
On Monday we went to the movies (Lego Batman-my hopes were not high for this movie but it ended up being funny). This was our first summer matinee week and we were excited for the tradition to continue.
Our library’s put on the best summer reading program. My kids are so excited for all the prizes. I love that they are excited and motivated to read. We set a summer reading goal (read for 30 minutes each day is ours) and then each week we return the log and they give the kids a sticker and a surprise. After five weeks of reaching your goal you get a bigger prize. This is one of our FAVORITE things about summer.
On Tuesday I had a training all day. I loved it and our new reading curriculum is my new FAVORITE. We have been focusing on math and science the last few years and reading is where my passion is at. This is my FAVORITE exciting thing about the new school year.
The kids and I went to the park to burn off some energy and the temps were in the 70’s. It was our FAVORITE morning of the week.
Throwing rocks into the creek is their FAVORITE way to end a trip to the park.
I am always looking for ways to keep the creativity flowing, especially for Guy (he needs all the fine-motor help he can get-boys!). We spent a good portion of our afternoon using sidewalk chalk on the trampoline.
I have been running a lot in the morning and this is my FAVORITE morning snack. A banana, one tablespoon of peanut butter and one tablespoon of chia seeds. I usually have one whole egg and an additional egg white with Franks Hot Sauce each morning for breakfast as well…I am counting down the days until my cherry tomatoes get ripe and I can add them as well.
I hope you have had a great week. We are looking forward to a fun-filled weekend celebrating some of our favorite Dads. Thanks for stopping by!
